Motor Vehicle Theft Timely Warning
In compliance with the “Timely Warning” provisions of the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) the University Public Safety Department is giving notice of an uptick in motor vehicle thefts and burglaries occurring in and around the GCU campus.
Reported Offense: Motor Vehicle Thefts and Vehicle Burglaries
Location: Grove Parking Garage (Building 80) & 29th Ave Parking Garage (Building 55).
Suspect description: Female subject, dark clothing, early twenties and male subject(s) early twenties.
Incident Information: Grand Canyon University’s Public Safety Department received reports during Spring Break of multiple motor vehicle thefts and vehicles which were burglarized. In many of the reports, vehicles were not locked, valuables were left unsecured inside, and spare keys were stored inside parked vehicles.
Prevention Information: Lock your vehicle and do not keep valuable items inside, including spare keys. Notify Public Safety immediately of any suspicious persons/activity.
