Earlier today, GCU Public Safety issued an AlertGCU notification regarding police activity near 35th Ave and Camelback/Georgia. This incident occurred off-campus and was handled by the Phoenix Police Department.

Once GCU Dispatch received confirmed details from PPD, we are able to share the following: PPD responded to a robbery investigation and located a teenage victim with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. No GCU community member was involved in this incident.

GCU Public Safety maintains close coordination with the Phoenix Police Department and other regional partners on incidents near our campus. Because this incident occurred outside GCU property and jurisdiction, our initial alert was issued to inform the community to avoid the area, and this update reflects confirmed information shared by PPD once their investigation allowed it to be released.
